Get to Know the Diploma III Information System Study Program of the Indonusa Polytechnic of Surakarta

Surakarta – The D3 Information System Study Program at the Indonusa Polytechnic of Surakarta has been accredited B. This study program was previously known as Information Management, and in 2021 it changed its name to Information Systems. Open regular class (morning), evening class, and employee class. The employee class is open to those who have worked for at least 2 years in a workplace that is linear with the majors. The education period for the employee class is 2 years (4 semesters).

The D3 Information System study program is equipped with a Programming Lab, Hardware Lab, Software Lab. Computer Network Lab, and Graphic Design Multimedia Lab. Job prospects for information system graduates include as Programmers, Database Programmers, Network Administrators, Technical Engineers. Digital Entrepreneur and IT Consultant, Enterprise Resource, Planning Developer, Multimedia Designer and Entrepreneur.

What is Information Systems?

According to Nathaniel Dengen, an information system is a collection or arrangement consisting of hardware and software and their implementing personnel who work in a sequential process and jointly support each other to produce a product. (Journal of Informatics: 2009) Alter argues for information systems as a special type of work system. Work system is a system in which humans and/or machines perform work by using resources to produce certain products and/or services for customers. It is a work system whose activities are aimed at processing (capturing, transmitting, storing, retrieving, manipulating and displaying) information. Information systems can also be considered as a semi-formal language that supports humans in making decisions and actions.
