Surakarta – Thursday (09/09/2021) Indonusa Polytechnic of Surakarta has held a school webinar with the theme “Implementation of Leadership Management and Learning Towards Excellent Schools” which was held online through the media zoom meeting and YouTube streaming Official Polytechnic Indonusa Surakarta, the event opened at 10.00 WIB and closes at 12.30 WIB.

The first material of the school webinar was delivered by Mrs. Ir. Suci Purwandari, MM regarding School Governance in the Industrial Era 4.0, where excellent schools must have the following characteristics, namely having a clear vision, mission and goals, having a master plan for development and work programs with measurable targets, having a shared commitment within the community in achieving ( exceeds) national education standards, has quality insurance, has strong cooperation with partners (Industry, Universities, etc.), and utilizes information technology. Facing the changing times coupled with the COVID-19 pandemic, Smart Leadership is certainly needed to make changes that are not easy to build excellent schools and campuses.

“The principal is a ship captain who is able to bring a ship to win the competition,” concluded Ibu Suci Purwandari, MM in her material.

In the second material continued by Mrs. Dra. Harminingsih, M.Pd, he explained about the implementation of school efforts in implementing digital-based learning and improving quality in an effort to make schools excellent, especially at the high school level, where high school students are not only in the academic field but schools also provide advantages that are a plus for students to be able to compete after graduation. Mrs. Dra. Harminingsih, M.Pd said that in creating a superior school, one must have a brand, one of which is by creating quality teaching and learning activities both in the classroom and providing added value to students. To become a superior school, the following minimum standards must be met: a positive, conducive, and competitive school climate, the planning process involving all school members, high motivation for academic achievement, effective monitoring of student progress, teacher effectiveness, good order, and discipline, as well as the implementation of a clear curriculum.

Then the last material was closed by a presentation from Mrs. Farida Hanin H, S.Pd., M.Pd, who conveyed about leadership management. He is the Principal of SMK Negeri 2 Ponorogo which is the only school that has been designated as a vocational center for excellence in Beauty and SPA programs in the Ponorogo area. Becoming a center of excellence SMK, of course, there are stages that must be passed, such as INPUT (students, extracurricular and entrepreneurial activities, implementation of school curriculum, organizational management and facilitating competitions and student performances), PROCESS (implementation of ICT 4.0-based learning, curriculum adjustments, organizing TEFA and industrial classes, empowering DUDIKA development, teacher and student certificates, as well as publications and rebranding), OUTPUT (quality of graduates according to SKL and the needs of the industrial world, reflecting PPP, graduates have competency certificates according to KKNI level II/III and are recognized by the industrial world ), OUTCOMES (adoption and independence of graduates, increasing the ability of graduates to develop themselves, developing institutions (TEFA/UP), implementing BLUDs, and independent SMKs), IMPACT (increasing public confidence in SMK N 2 Ponorogo, realizing independent schools, professional graduates, have fighting power and character, increasing the image of S MK N 2 Ponorogo in the community, there is an international recognition).

In the question and answer session, participants used to discuss school governance with the resource persons. The webinar was attended by 177 participants consisting of 80 SMA/SMK/MA teachers, 28 university lecturers, and 69 students and the general public from various provinces.

The webinar activity with the theme “Implementation of Leadership Management and Learning Towards Excellent Schools” received positive responses from education practitioners, participants received provisions, especially prospective educators and education management to create excellent schools that are not only parents’ expectations, but also as quality generation printers. who can contribute actively and positively to the country?
